Secured AIR-4 in ST category and AIR-347 in general category in JEE-Advanced 2018 Result

Nothing can stop you if you have strong determination. A person can change the circumstances with strong willpower. Such is the story Sunil Kumar Meena who hails from Nagalmina village, Mahua jhotwara post. His parents are labourers in MGNREGA. The result of the hard work of Sunil and his parents paid off when Sunil secured 245 marks and bagged AIR-4 in ST category and AIR-347 in general category in JEE-Advanced 2018 Result. Sunil is the only person in Jhotwara Post panchayat to study in IIT.

His father Shivram Meena is a farmer and says that they have land but the farming is dependent on rain. Each year, he has to take a loan of one to two lakhs for the education of children. There are four children in the family 1 daughter and 3 sons. His daughter and son are doing B tech and the other son is doing B Sc. All of them are living away from their hometown. When Sunil had to come to Kota, they did not have much money so had to keep their land as a mortgage. He got 85 % fee concession from ALLEN Career Institute which grew their courage. Still, they did not have money for the daily expense.

Sunil, who secured AIR-4 in ST category, said that Nagalmina village is a habitation of 150 houses and has a population of around 600. Even today, the food is cooked on mud stove. In his free time, he used to help his father in farming. Sunil studied in government school till 8th standard. After that, he went to a private school five kilometres away from his native village. He secured 94.50 % in 10th and 97.40% in the 12th standard. He got full marks in Physics, chemistry and mathematics. Previously he gave IIT JEE exam with his 12th but did not get good rank so the Principal of his school advised him to go to Kota.

Here seeing his talent and financial conditions, a fee concession of 85% was given to him by ALLEN. He said that I got everything in Kota, the faculties here were always ready to help, and the study material was very good. I got an opportunity to study with talented students from all over India.

Want to become an IAS

Sunil said that I want to pursue my engineering from  IIT Mumbai or Delhi in computer science or mechanical branch. His aim is to go for administrative services after IIT. He wants to help the students who are talented and are deprived of opportunities.

Such students are empowering our nation and taking our country ahead. They are establishing a new benchmark. We are proud of him, says Sh Naveen Maheshwari, Director of ALLEN Career Institute
