The hopes and aspirations of the children are to be acknowledged and their achievements are to be rewarded.

Although every child is precious and his or her achievements have to be appreciated, there are some whose achievements will serve as an inspiration to many others. Towards this end, the Bal Shakti Puraskar is given by the Government of India every year to recognize exceptional achievements of our children in various fields i.e., innovation, scholastic achievements, social service, arts & culture, sports, and bravery. Also, to recognize the contribution of dedicated individuals and institutions, whose tireless efforts complement the actions taken by the Government of India for the welfare of children, the Bal Kalyan Puraskar was instituted and is given in two categories – Individual and Institution.
