International Moon Day celebration by ISRO, Know complete details about space quiz and competition.

Moon Exploration has been an exciting and challenging scientific mission in humanity’s history. Countries such as the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan, China, India, and Israel have launched their space missions to better understand the Moon and its relationship to Earth. The first human landing on the Moon on 20 July 1969 by the Apollo 11 mission of the United States. The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) has announced 20 July as an International Moon Day to increase awareness among the general public on the Moon and its environment.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO has completed two Moon Missions, namely Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2. The objectives of these missions are to understand the Moon and its environment. The discovery of water molecules on the lunar surface by ISRO’s lunar mission has made remarkable history and opened the opportunity for many future moon explorations.

ABOUT SPACE QUIZ & COMPETITION

ISRO Celebrates International Moon Day on 20 July 2022. As part of the celebration, an online Painting/Drawing and Quiz competition will be conducted for school students of Classes 8th to 12th. The Registrations are invited to participate in the online event by visiting:https://spacequiz.iirs.gov.in

  • The competition is open from 6 July 2022 to 19 July 2022.
  • There will be 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in the online quiz competition. The student scoring a minimum of 40% marks in the quiz will be awarded with a certificate from ISRO. The best 10 scorers will also get special appreciation.
  • For the Painting/Drawing competition, the students can submit their single-page original Painting/Drawing in the above web portal.
  • The theme of the Painting/Drawing competition is “Moon.”
