Doctors’ Day (1st July)–An ode to the Doctor community

Doctors’ Day is celebrated on 1st July in remembrance of the physician doctor, and former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy.

Doctors’ Day is celebrated on 1st July to commemorate the role and contribution of the doctors’ fraternity to the human generation. Doctors are considered Gods of the Earth who possess godly powers of curing human beings and saving their lives.

Why is Doctors’ Day celebrated on 1st July?

Doctors’ Day is celebrated every year on the 1st of July in remembrance of the physician doctor, freedom fighter, social worker, and also former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr. Roy was an exemplary personality who not only extended his services beyond the horizons of a doctor. He was also conferred Bharat Ratna in the year 1961. Indian Medical Association started celebrating Doctors’ Day in India on 1st July 1991. There is an award in the memory of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy which the President of India gives to the leading doctors’ of the country for their contribution in the field of medical sciences.

God and Savior for the humanity

Doctors are called the God of the Earth for their abilities and knowledge of curing, treating, and saving human lives. No one else, except Doctors, can save any human life by combating health ailments. The doctors work with the noble cause of curtailing the sufferings of the patients. It is the wisdom of the doctors which is an integral part of human lives. From the birth of human beings to their death, doctors play a crucial part in the lives of their patients.

Worked as Frontline Workers during Covid-19

When the brutal Covid-19 pandemic struck the globe, it was the doctor fraternity that was seen fighting this deadly virus which claims millions of lives across the World. Doctors worked as the frontline soldiers in this biggest crisis in the human generation. Doctors worked day and night without thinking about their own lives to save the lives of Covid-19 patients. A large number of doctors succumbed to Covid-19 themselves while saving the lives of their patients. Doctors are those Gods of Earth who are always concerned about the well-being of their patients. Certainly, doctors deserve a salute from mankind for saving millions and millions of lives during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Doctors have been replacing the woes of the patients with happiness for ages. It is the undying spirit of selflessness and service which is keeping mankind alive despite shocks of epidemics, pandemics, diseases, and health ailments.

Brings smiles to the faces of people

When a patient reaches the doorsteps of a doctor with pain and despair, it is the doctor who soaks the sufferings and ailments of the patient. Doctors return the smiles on the faces of their patients by treating them well. A satisfied and pleased cured patient is a source of treasure and self-satisfaction for the doctors.
