Son of Tractor Driver and MGNREGA labour to become a Doctor

If you are focused on your target, you will definitely achieve the goal. This is a story of Kaluram, a resident of Kalpa Jageer village in Chhipabarod Tehsil in Baran District of Rajasthan State. His father is a Tractor Driver and mother is an MGNREGA labour. Despite all odds, he continued his studies and is now all set to become the first doctor of his village. Kaluram’s family comes under the BPL category. His father Rattiram is a tractor driver and MGNREGA labour and has studied till 4th standard whereas mother Dhapu Bai is an MGNREGA labour and is illiterate.

Due to the unfavourable financial conditions of his family, after passing 12th in the year 2016, he took an admission in Bsc Government College, but his aim was to give medical entrance examination. Therefore, in order to prepare for NEET 2017 examination, he took admission in the coaching after consulting with his father. Seeing his talent, ALLEN Career Institute also supported him and provided a fee concession of 40 per cent. The other expenses were born by his father.

Kaluram achieved AIR-7972   in general category and 2746th rank in the OBC category in NEET-2017. Kaluram has been selected in Vardhman Medical College, Nalanda, Bihar for MBBS course. He secured  83 per cent in 10th and 89 per cent in 12th standard. Along with coaching, he also completed his BSc Second year. Now he will be the first from his village, to become a doctor. Looking at the Kaluram’s talent, ALLEN Career Institute decided to give him a monthly scholarship for his further studies.

Kaluram’s family have a Katcha house in the village. They have three bighas of land, which can produce barely enough food grains. For the children’s education, his father used to work as a tractor driver for daily wages. Mother has been struggling with illness for many years, despite this she worked as a labour. They mortgaged their land for the coaching of Kaluram. Along with ALLEN Career Institute in Kota, his landlord also helped him. Seeing the financial conditions of Kaluram, the landlord L. Verma gave him a facility to stay free for the whole year.  Inspired by Kaluram, younger brother Naresh Lavvanshi is also preparing for engineering entrance exams in Kota.

ALLEN Career Institute is continuously trying to help such students who are talented and deprived of opportunities. When these children of villages become doctors and engineers, not only the family but entire village gets uplifted. The other children of the village gets inspiration and courage to fulfil their dreams, says Sh. Naveen Maheshwari, Director of ALLEN Career Institute.
