Kota gears up to combat stress among students

Keeping in mind the large number of students suffering from stress and increase in suicides with alarming rates, the coaching city Kota is gearing up and implementing effective actions to defeat stress among students. Some actions in this regard, have already been taken and some in progress. Yoga and meditation classes have started by Institutes and hostels. In addition to this, institutes running motivational sessions between lectures.

For coaching, about 1.25 lakh students from across the country come to Kota every year. The majority of them reside alone in Kota during this period. The level of stress established among students is high on account of cut-throat competition in the area of their study. In consideration of the same, the coaching institutes to begin a number of measures that facilitate reduce it.

Allen Career Institute, Kota, has in recent times started regular Yoga and Meditation Classes at their campuses, together with the coaching. “The Yoga classes are run during mornings and evenings. Yoga and meditation inculcate positivity and freshness in students that is the key for student life and education,” said Naveen Maheshwari, Director, Allen Career Institute.

A student from Varanasi, Namrata Sharma said that she attained mental peace after attending the yoga classes and now she will make every effort to better herself in it.

It is also claimed by Maheshwari  ji that ALLEN is now running, short cartoon movies, some recreational videos and music during breaks on 15-20 minutes in classes to help students de-stress mid-lecture, and also organizing ‘Samasya to Samadhan‘ sessions to deal with their problems.

Added to that, the hostels where students stay have also equipped for reducing stress. In recent times, some hostels have started yoga classes for helping those students who get less time for workouts or exercises, Gajendra Yadav, President of the Hostel Association of Kota, told to media.
