ALLEN’s Lay Jain wins Bronze for the Nation at 18th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO)

Students of Kota are leaving an imprint even at the international level. After consistently giving best results in the international level Olympiad, now Kota coaching students have proved their high degree of competence at the 18th Asian Physics Olympiad. The Olympiad concluded in Russia’s Yakutsk on May 8 in which 4 students represented India at the International level. One amongst them was ALLEN’s Lay Jain.

lay-jain-allen-kotaALLEN’s Director Brajesh Maheshwari said, “As per what we know, in the Indian delegation 2 students were from 12th class and 2 were from 11th class, out of which only Lay won a Bronze medal for the country. More than 150 students of 24 countries participated in this Olympiad in which the students were analyzed on various level from 1st to 8th May, post which the results were announced. A day pre-departure camp was organized for the Indian team of students before their departure to Russia. Prior to that Lay also topped the prestigious Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna, KVPY this year.”

According to Mr Maheshwari, the selection for the team to compete in APHO is done on the basis of the competitions conducted for International Physics Olympiad.

Aims to pursue research

Lay devotes a 6 hour time to self studies daily apart from his regular coaching schedule. He likes the subject Physics and hence most of his time goes in studying that. He wishes to complete his graduation post which he aims at pursuing research. Along with his studies, he likes to play badminton and chess for leisure. Occasionally he also reads a few novels. He has been studying in Kota since his class 7th.

“Kota coaching methodology is the best in the country and the environment a student gets here is incomparable. Here the students get whatever they could ask for”, says Lay. Lay who is an NTSE scholar also won Gold for the nation at the International Junior Science Olympiad 2 years ago. His mother Bhawna Jain is a home maker while his father Anil Kumar Jain is an engineer in the Indian Railways.
