ALLEN Classroom Student Lay Jain wins Gold for INDIA in International Physics Olympiad

Lay JainALLEN Career Institute’s Kota center’s Classroom student Lay Jain brings glory to India. ALLEN’s classroom student has bagged Gold Medal for the country in the Final round of 48th International Physics Olympiad 2017, held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

According to the Director, Mr. Brajesh Maheshwari ALLEN’s Classroom Student Lay Jain was selected in the team of 5 to represent India in the Final Round of International Physics Olympiad 2017. After a Sift competition, 35 students were selected from across the country for the Orientation cum Selection Camp held at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai (HBCSE), after which 5 students were selected to represent India at the International Level.

Lay Jain, who was one of the 5 students in the Indian team, won a Gold Medal in the final round of the International Physics Olympiad which was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The brightest students from across 88 countries had participated in the final round. It is worth noting that Lay Jain is in class 12th and has won this gold medal during his 12th Board preparation.

Mr. Brajesh Maheshwari further added that studying in 12th class, Lay also won a Bronze Medal India in 18th Asian Physics Olympiad (Russia’s Yakutsk) , earlier this year. Prior to that Lay also topped (All India Rank 1) the prestigious Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna- KVPY 2016, has been an NTSE scholar and has also won Gold for the nation at the International Junior Science Olympiad 2 years ago.

The 48th International Physics Olympiad started from July 16th 2017 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in which the teams from around 88 countries of the world participated making it a total of 420 students, 170 leaders, 78 observers and 14 visitors. Each team consists of students selected after a sift process on a national level that represented their country on the International level.

2nd Gold Medal in IPhO from Kota Coaching

The international physics Olympiad started in the year 1967 and India started participating in IPhO as an observer from the year 1997. Later Indian students started participating in IPhO from the year 1998. It is worth noting that Lay Jain’s Gold is the 2nd Gold Medal achieved by an Indian Student from Kota Coaching in past few years. Earlier ALLEN Classroom Student Chitraang Murdia bagged Gold Medal for India in the year 2014. Chitraang Murdia achieved gold post completion of his class 12th and Lay Jain bagged this gold medal alongside his class 12th preparation.

Aims to pursue research

Lay devotes a 6 hour time to self-studies daily apart from his regular coaching schedule. He likes the subject Physics and hence most of his time goes in studying that. He wishes to complete his graduation post which he aims at pursuing research. Along with his studies, he likes to play badminton and chess for leisure. Occasionally he also reads a few novels. He has been studying in Kota since his class 7th. “Kota coaching methodology is the best in the country and the environment a student gets here is incomparable. Here the students get whatever they could ask for”, says Lay. His mother Bhawna Jain is a home maker while his father Anil Kumar Jain is an engineer in the Indian Railways.
